The team at Azook have been a whirlwind of activity this year. Re:collect, our Cornwall-wide digitisation project will finish at the end of October, and MemoryFish, our fishing heritage programme has just finished. We have been very lucky to have had our two offices at the Pool Innovation Centre and have thrived whilst we have been here thanks to the nurturing environment provided by the Innovation Centre team who have supported our growth and helped us secure new opportunities.
We have some very exciting projects lined up for the coming months and we will be moving our offices to the exciting new building at Krowji in Redruth.
Tomorrow the fibre broadband will be installed, carpets will be laid, and we begin the process of moving our furniture and fabulous collection of legacy audio-visual equipment.
Our first month at Krowji, and the last of the Re:collect project, will see over 25,000 items of Cornish history – photos, films and recordings – uploaded for free public access onto cornishmemory.com which has been fully redesigned. The new version of website will be launched at the end of October along with over 1,200 fishing heritage photos collected during the MemoryFish project.
We will also be announcing some interesting partnerships and initiatives in the coming weeks, helping to connect more people with the cultural heritage of Cornwall.
