The Azook team were out on the road again this time in Lostwithiel. The Lostwithiel Museum very kindly organised for us to join them in the Community Centre on 30th April.
The day was bust with plenty of folk visiting to seeing what we were showing and also a number of great collection were brought in. Some of these were scanned and digitised on the spot, while the slightly larger collections have been taken back to the Azook offices to be digitised in slower time.
Ted Gundry interviewed Lostwithiel residents to capture their memories. Others were able to enjoy looking through the extensive collection of newspaper images taken by Jonathan Barker. Jonathan lived in Lostwithiel for many years recording and publishing images of the many events and occasions that took place over the times. These can be access on the website via the geo-tagged map system available.
The day was a great success and we will have a cornishmemory.com stand Sunday 12th July at the Oasis Room. Our next event will be at the Royal Cornwall Show; please come and find us with your own collections or to just enjoy the material: images, audio and footage that we will have on display. Look out for our trailer!
Azook CIC is a not for profit organisation, please visit our Home Page if you would like to donate and support this very important heritage preservation work.
