A training day for the Redruth Girls Guides was delivered by Azook CIC on 30th October 2014. The day was sponsored by Bridging Arts a Cornwall based charity.

The Redruth Girl Guides are about to embark upon a project which will see them interviewing the senior generation to capture their memories of the First World War and its Western Front: Heart of Conflict. This bodes to be a fascinating and revealing experience; particularly special as it will bring together the youngest and oldest in our community.

The training included: familiarisation work with cutting edge recording equipment; interview training delivered by members of the Azook team and importantly Ted Gundry a BBC Radio Cornwall legend; finishing with an opportunity for the Guides to interview members of the team to try out their new found skills.

The day was a wonderful experience and also a change from the digitisation work being conducted for the cornishmemory.com project. It was kindly covered by the West Briton, which was very exciting the for the Girls Guides involved.
